Blackjack Primer
Placing a Bet

No cards are dealt to the player unless he or she has a bet down, so determine how much you want to bet and place it in the betting circle in front of you.

It is best to first stack the chips you want to bet in front of you and then place the total amount at once in the betting circle. This is a good habit to get into because if you ever play in a Blackjack tournament you are not allowed to add or subtract chips from the original amount deposited in the betting circle.

Stick with even amounts to ensure a proper 3:2 payout on a blackjack. Although most casinos will pay out right in half dollars, some will round down to the nearest dollar.

You can sit out rounds if you wish.
